Back home :(

Well the Scrivner's made it back to Easley today!  The kids and I were not happy about leaving the beach (Jonathan was ready to come home after the first week!), however it was nice to get some sweet tea and to see our dog again!  We had a great time this year and we are already working on planning our trip for next year!

The last night we were at the beach we went on a "Pirate" cruise on the Belle of Topsail!  Probably the best part of the whole trip....our entire gang of 13 went and we had a blast!  The kids loved gettting to shoot the water cannons at the pirate ship as they were trying to take over our boat! 

We also got another go round at the family pictures....much better this time!  We actually have several pictures where all 5 of us are looking at the camera!  We decided to do some Topsail style pictures instead of just the beach pictures like usual!  So we had some pictures made in front of the towers, the swing bridge, and a few taken on the sound side in the beach grass!  Plus the pictures from the pirate theme night!

This year for theme night we decided to go with a pirate theme!  Heather (my aunt) really out did herself!  We all had the best time!  We ate dinner, played games, and dressed up!  I love having family time where we all act crazy!!!

Want to send a special thanks out to Kathy (my aunt) who dog/house sat for us the first week we were at the beach!  And thanks so much for cleaning our house....we owe you!!!!  And to my in-laws for dog sitting the second week!  We couldn't have enjoyed our vacation as much if we had to worry about our sweet Carolina!!!

So we are back now, almost unpacked (thanks to Jonathan) and I am on my 2nd load of laundry (back to the real world)!!  We did go to the Huddle for dinner since we missed it for 3 weeks (they close the week of the 4th  and didn't reopen until we were already at the beach)!  Now we will just enjoy the rest of the summer (5 weeks as Jonathan keeps reminding me) until the girls (thats right they will both be in school) and Jonathan start back to school!

Family Pics....take 1!

Well, we attempted to take family pictures at the beach tonight....did NOT go well!!!  First of all the wind has been crazy here for 2 days so we had to fight that, then high tide is in the evening so we had to go out a little earlier than normal so we also had to fight the sun without sunglasses!  But we will def. try again next week! Also Jud didn't want anything to do with pictures tonight (there's always one who doesn't cooperate!)  However I did get a few good pictures of the 3 scrivner kids together and individually just not a whole family picture!

Lovin' the Beach!!

We have been at the beach since Saturday....I love it here!!!  The kids were vary tired today and spent most of the day inside today, but have been outside every other day this week! (I guess all the playing was catching up to them!)  Tonight we cooked some shrimp....it was soooo good! The kids had chicken nuggets, we couldn't even talk them into trying the shrimp! (more for us!)  Last night we went to the big playground and the kids wore themselves out!  The girls (Charlee, Kenlee, Mattison, Reegan, and Auburn) have started a salon in their bedroom and spend a lot of time every day do each others' hair...they are getting pretty good at it too!  Monday night we went to play putt putt and eat ice cream/snow cones!  We also went for a walk on the Jolly Roger Pier!  There were several fisherman but they weren't catching much so we didn't get to see anything cool!  But it was fun to walk on pier, always so pretty!  Anyways we are having a blast here...no where close to wanting to go home!!!

Pee Wee...and I am not talking about Herman!

Well after having to wait 2 very long weeks, we found out today that Charlee made the Pee Wee clogging team at UCDC!  This means she will go to more competitions than she did last year and one of them is in TN!  She was so excited when she found out, she immediately started calling grandparents to let them know her good new!  Congrats Charlee!  We are soooooo proud of you!!!

On the Run!

This weekend Jonathan and I both ran a 5K!  Jonathan did the Red, White, and Blue shoes and I did the Firecracker Frolic....we both did ok, Jonathan was not happy with his time and I was 5 seconds short of beating my personal best!  But we both finished our races and had a good time! 
Side note: I wish Jonathan would start taking a camera with him to his races!!!  Oh Well!

 Me and Tommy Bailey...this is our second 5K together (the 1st his wife also did with us!)  He was nice enough to pick me up the morning of the run so that i didn't have to drive!!!  Thanks Tommy!!!

Kenlee is 5!!!

Kenlee turned 5 on Monday, July 4!  She had a birthday party at the YMCA pool here in Easley!  She had a great time and loved every present she got!!  Thanks to all our awesome family and friends for making Kenlee's birthday a special day!!!  We love our little firecracker!

Jud is a swimming machine!!!

We took Jud's swimmies off at Kenlee's birthday party on Saturday night (7-2-11) so that he could go down the slides!  Well he popped himself back up from under the water and moved to me...and we haven't looked back since!!!  He is loving life swimming all over the place!  Yesterday he swam for over 3 hours without any floaties!!!  We are so proud of him!
